Teeth is one of the most original and creepy animated short films we have ever seen. It’s one of those films that makes you uncomfortable, but you still can’t stop watching.
The animation might seem crude at first, but then you get used to the style and form of storytelling: the whole story is told in tight insert shots, which, coupled by the incredible sound design, results in something that’s quite unique.
Released in 2015, Teeth was directed by Tom Brown and Daniel Gray, and tells the story of a man who was obsessed with his teeth, and chronicles 50 years of his life, abusing his teeth, losing them, and eventually replacing them with a perfect set of teeth he took from dead animals.
Teeth has won a bunch of awards, including a special mention at SXSW and AFI Fest.
The narration by Richard E. Grant makes you think you are watching some surrealist documentary, and the incredible sound design and music just amp everything up.
